Travel Tuesday

This weekend I went to one of the places on my Spain must see list... San Sebastian, and it didn't disappoint one bit. Its a city that just oozes charm, every corner every nook of the city is just beautiful and breathtaking. The people are extremely nice and are always willing to give a helping hand and advice on the best places for pinchos. Truth is... I fell in love with this city.

My new favorite city..

Move over NYC...
For years my favorite city was New York, a city I know well and have gone so many times I have lost count. But after this weekends escape to London I have a new favorite! I absolutely loved this city, the architecture, the lifestyle, everything. I am so happy that for my first time mother nature was good to us and gave us great weather and one very sunny day!!!

Some pics of the outfit I wore to get to know the city. Later I changed my flats for a new pair of white Superga sneaks I bought, my new fav buy.

Are you a foodie?

Piacere Caffe - Plaza de la Sagrada Familia 6

I don't necessarily consider myself a foodie, I just know I like food. Today I wanted to share with you guys a coffee shop I went to in Barcelona a few weeks ago. Its nothing out of the ordinary but they had one of the best croissants I have ever had, its a small, cozy and cute.. basically everything you want from a coffee shop.

Midnight in Paris

Last night I saw Midnight in Paris by Woody Allen for the first time. With Woody Allen, you either love it or hate it, lucky for me I loved it! It was whimsical, magical and enchanting! In the movie they mention unable to decide if Paris is more beautiful by day or by night. I find myself in the same situation. During the day it is quaint and charming, but by night it turns into this magical place where every hour the Eiffel Tower hypnotizes us with a beautiful light show. These photos are from Christmas Dinner in Paris on the 25th where I experienced, Midnight in Paris.

I'm off to Rome

Many of you might think I'm living the jet set life, last weekend in Portugal, this weekend in Rome, Christmas in Paris (when I put it in that context it actually kinda looks like it lol) but the truth is with soo much work we get piled on in my master, we have to plan ahead and take any weekend that looks somewhat travel-able (yea, I totally just made that word up I think). And it's by pure coincidence that all my trips just seemed to have been bunched up into one month.
So with this post I say, see you soon... In a short while I'll be grabbing my carry-on once again and heading to Rome with my roomies. I leave you with some pics of a recent purchase I made in the Portugal airport in Parfois a store that sells the cutest accessories here in Europe. I bought the comfiest, furriest headband/ earmuff thingys to keep my ears warm in there winter months and a beautiful deep turquoise scarf. You see I realized not so long ago that ALL my scarves are neutral tones (read: black, grey, brown, beige)

Lovin' Portugal

All over Portugal in 2.5 days? Bring it on!!
Well peeps, I just got back yesterday from Portugal, sorry I didn't post but I literally got home, dropped off my mini carry-on, grabed my school stuff and ran out the door (literally though, I RAN to class) so logically I was exhausted yesterday! How can I sum up my trip in 3 words? I LOVE PORTUGAL! What a beautiful place, the food is delish, the people are absolutely amazing... sooo pleasant, and go out of their way to help and try to understand you (language barrier) and if your traveling Europe of a budget, this is a spot you can't miss the prices are great!
Quick overview of our trip:
Day 1: Landed in Porto > Bus to Lisbon
Day 2: Cascais, Sintra, Pena Castle Cabo da Roca > Back to Lisbon

Internal Tourism

Seeing that I'm living in Spain, internal tourism is a MUST. With easy access to AVE and RENFE, trains which get you from A to B in a jiffy (yes I just used the word jiffy), going on a day trips to the surrounding towns or cities are a great way to
Aqueducts

enhance a weekend. Not long ago I took my roommate and the boy to Segovia, a beautiful little city just a 30 minute train ride away. Known for their Roman aqueducts, with construction dating back to the end of the 1st century, this is one of the most important landmarks in Spain. Another famous landmark is the Alcazar of Segovia, a castle which is rumored to be an inspiration to Walt Disney.

New York: Beautiful Catastrophe

How do you sum up New York City? Whenever I find myself trying to explain NYC to someone who has never been, I'm at a loss for words. New York is a feeling, quoting Billy Joel, when you're there you're in "A New York State of mind", I'm not sure what it is but this city captures you. Busy avenues, quiet tree lined streets early in the morning with a coffee to go, Central Park, meat packing district, Soho, the list goes on and on. I was lucky enough to to have the opportunity to make a quick visit in September, and as usual, my favorite city didn't let me down.
